Dear Gentle Sugarbeader,
You
may have noticed, though we tend to doubt it, that there was never any
April newsletter... We opened the new store in West Hartford instead.
It's felt a bit like getting used to having that second baby! And
we're two proud mommas...take a look at Sugarbeads West Hartford above.
Not
only have we set up a whole new store since last we wrote, but we've
continued to unpack fun and beautiful new beads from our buying trip so
that every time you visit Sugarbeads, you'll see something new, in both
stores. Check out the list below....
We are already starting to
see familiar faces on a regular basis in West Hartford, just as we
enjoy doing so much in Ridgefield. We really appreciate both your
patronage AND your good company and look forward to getting to know
many new people over time. Pam likes to sing, "Make new friends, but
keep the old, One is silver and the other gold!" Yes, she was a Girl
Scout leader for years.
Our best to all of you, old and new!
Martha and Pam

Introducing Nikki in Ridgefield!
Many of you have already met Nikki
Blanchard who instantly became an essential part of our team here.
Nikki is a handmade bead artist and designer so don't hesitate to ask
for her good advice when you are designing. She has a long history of
store management in addition to her creative background (which
qualifies her as a bona fide Sugarbabe!) Pam and Martha are thrilled to
have her.

What's New in the Store
In
the world of beads (and I would daresay in the world of food as well),
there is no such thing as enough. We try to keep it coming ...
In
the last 1-2 months, we've added a new stash of vintage and handmade
beads, glass pearls in many shades and sizes, chunky faceted fire agate
in vibrant colors, rhyolite, green goldstone, a composite stone of blue
and gold goldstone, sparkly strands of Chinese crystal in a dozen
colors, and delicate pink shell.
Come see the newest treasure and we'll keep you posted.

A Sprinkle of Sugar
We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by
each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face... we
must do that which we think we cannot.
Eleanor Roosevelt
On
Easter Sunday, we celebrated Martha's birthday by taking a trip to
Hyde Park, the home of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. We learned a
great deal about these spectacular people and highly recommend the
visit. But I often think of this quote when I feel overwhelmed by
life, or even just have a tremendously hard time doing something that
seems easy for others, (like uploading photos into this email...) We
like to think Sugarbeads is at least one place that our customers can
feel safe taking creative risks.

"Come to Hartford. It's fun. I swear." (from a Hartford billboard on I-84.)
Look
at these EARRINGS! These friends were getting together for a one-year
reunion after college, they saw our store as they were walking down
Main Street in West Hartford and an hour (and lots of laughs) later,
they were sporting "dangle madness." And these two had NEVER made
jewelry before. Come in with a good friend for some good fun. |
Come on in and brighten your day Sugarbeads now in two locations!
